Frequently Asked Questions

What states do you cover? I currently only treat patients in Nevada. A patient must be in Nevada at the time of the visit in order to be seen. If you have upcoming travel, please discuss that with me and I am happy to accommodate your schedule as best as possible.

Vegas can feel small sometimes, what if I see you in public? I will not approach you or talk to you to maintain confidentiality but will always be happy to see you if you would like to approach me. I will not discuss anything related to your care with you or anyone else outside of a session.

How do I know which appointment type is right for me? We will discuss this during the introductory session as well as during follow up visits. If you would like to change your appointment type after treatment begins, that can be done.

How is payment collected? I accept credit/debit card payment using HIPAA-compliant software in your patient portal. Payment worth half of your visit will be collected the morning of your appointment. The other half will be collected when the visit is completed. For concierge patients, you will be billed monthly on the same day you signed up. If you signed up on the 31st of a month, you will be billed on the last calendar day of the month.

What if I need to reschedule/cancel? With more than 24 hours before an appointment, a visit may be rescheduled or canceled without penalty. If it is within 24 hours, half of the value of the visit will be collected. If you are able to visit within the same calendar week, that payment will go toward your overall visit fee. If you have to reschedule outside of the week, that payment is kept and a new visit fee would incur on the next appointment. No-show appointments and late cancellations will be treated the same as a reschedule within 24 hours.

How do I reschedule or cancel? You can send an email to contact@austindeanpsych.com and the time stamp of when the email is received will be used to determine any fees that may incur. I am happy to work with you and your schedule, so don't hesitate to reach out.

What if we don't use the full 30/60 minutes? I will ensure that you will have the full time that you signed up for, however not all visits will require the full time depending on your needs or schedule. In that case, you will still be charged the full service fee. The fee covers the time spent with you as well as administrative tasks outside of our sessions and the calendar slot.

I chose to pay my fees quarterly/yearly but would like to stop service, can I get a refund? No, fees are collected and your spot is saved for that quarter/year. No refunds will be administered. Your payments will be charged automatically unless a 1 week notice of cancellation of service is provided.

Can I use insurance? You may be able to use insurance to cover the cost of the prescriptions and labs but the visits are cash only.

Why self-pay only? This allows me greater flexibility in my scheduling and avoids the risk of losing coverage in the middle of care. Self-pay allows me to spend more time with each patient leading to a better therapeutic alliance.

Do you do payment plans? This will be addressed on a case by case basis. Please direct any inquiries to contact@austindeanpsych.com

What do I do if I am in crisis? Call 911 if you are in immediate danger. You can also call or text 988 for mental health emergencies. I do not offer emergency services, even for concierge patients.

Do I need a referral? No, because this is a cash-based service no referral is needed.

Do you accept HSA/FSA? You may be eligible for reimbursement through your HSA/FSA account but I do not accept it directly at this time.
